A new runner is born

People, I went running yesterday. Or at least I tried.

Inspired by the beautiful weather outside and thinking it would be a shame to stay lazily at home while the sun was finally shining, I put on my exercise clothes (very little used, I must admit), checked a map of the city, made sure my mp3 player had enough battery and left.

Nürnberg is such a beuatiful city. There is a Castle (and royalty as I am, I live right next to it of course) and a Wall surrounding teh city center. I had already been told that the running path following the Wall was quite pleasant and so I decided to give it a try.

Turned out I didn't need to bother much about my mp3 player's battery as I didn't last very long running... I must have done it for about 15 minutes (i'm sure I run for longer than 3 or 4 songs) and then right foot started to hurt. Talking to a friend who knows a little more than I do about running (she just signed up to run a marathon in Frankfurt in September), it seems my shoes might be too small, hence the cramps.

The good things is that as far as I recall, I wasn't much out of breath by the time I stopped, so I can go on fully blaming my shoes for the very short run of yesterday. And anyway, I actually considering giving it another try today...or maybe some other day this week.

Believe me, dear readers, this is not the last you read about my running efforts!

  1. hahahaha, well, be proud of yourself for not being out of breath. I'm the one who is going to the gym, but still I couldn't run longer than 700m. I may say that I have a great excuse, my extra weight. anyways, at least on wednesday I did 40 min of transpo and then 15 min of jump (I was going to do the whole class, but dad arrived) WELL, THAT IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ARE COMPLETELY DEPENDENT OF YOU PARENTS TO GO PLACES.
